A day
Due Today:--
Point of View: 1st Person: the narrator is a character in the story. Uses words like we, I, me, us, etc.
2nd Person: When the writer incorporates the reader into the story using "you"--this is rarely seen in literature other than Choose Your Own Adventure Stories. It is most often seen in instructions and recipes.
3rd Person: When the narrator is not a character in the story. Uses words like they, he, she, etc.
Narrator: Who is telling the story. The point of view can change the whole story. In the movie Sleeping Beauty the point of view is that of Aurora and her family. In this story, Maleficent is an evil witch. However, you watch the movie Maleficent which is told from the witch's point of view, you find she is misunderstood and mistreated, and not so evil after all.
The Hitch Hiker: We watched the Twilight Zone version which is from a girl's point of view. We then read the play, which is told from a man's point of view.
Journal 13: 1-How did changing the point of view from a man to a woman change the story? (write a 50 word response for this question).
2-Now pick one of the other stories we have read (The Lady or the Tiger, The Tell-Tale Heart, or The Dinner Party) and re-write it from a different character’s point of view. Example: Write The Dinner Party from the hostess’s point of view (This should be 150 words long, bringing your total word count for this journal to 200 words)
