Due Today: AoW 6
Silent Reading: Students read silently from their own novels.
Imagery/Hyperbole: We defined these two figurative language devices and then looked for examples of them in How They Croaked as we read.
How They Croaked: We read Columbus and looked for an example of imagery, and then we read Pocahontas and looked for an example of hyperbole.
Cause/Effect: In our text structure booklets, students did cause/effect on what caused Pocahontas' death. On the Text Structure handout, since the effect was her death, they will do the graphic organizer with three causes that lead to the one effect. The only paragraph frame that works is the middle of the three.
